NightChild Records is a digital indie label based in NYC that is looking to present artists with a unique vision and sound. Striving to bring to the public all forms of House music, NightChild will not concentrate on one single genre but all genres within the underground-house realm.
Carlos Ruiz and Marissa Garcia started NightChild Records in 2007 with the goal of releasing House music of all styles and beyond without the artistic constraints of the sometimes rigid market, allowing their artists complete artistic freedom. After Rissidium released their debut EP, NightChild began to sign music from such NYC talents as Markos, Rob Regan, Pat King, Ariel"lights"Figueroa, AB, DJ Christian and Ivan Caraballo.
With each release they gained positive feedback, with some being featured on best seller charts. During 2008 they launched a series of one off parties that allowed the NC roster to show their talents behind the decks, moving countless crowds and gaining positive recognition and bookings from other promoters. Later that year NCR also launched their very own pod cast, Free Flow Sessions, to give their audience a consistent channel of music from their artists and guest DJ’s they love and support. In 2009 NCR started signing new artists with the first addition being The Urban District aka Addex to provide a broader sound to the label from abroad. When asked how they go about choosing the music and artists they choose, Carlos and Rissa answered simply “we love good music and artists with passion and vision, there really isn’t much more to it then that.”
They have had success with support from heavy weights such as Peace Division, DJ Vibe, DJ Sneak, Radio Slave, Tedd Patterson, Demarkus Lewis and Danny Krivit just to name a few. With NightChild going strong on their releases and artists developing on every record, it’s not hard to see why they’re so relentless on keeping the music and their vision at its core.
